Robinia pseudoaccacia in flower

 

This is the Robinia pseudoaccacia or mock accacia or black locust tree that stands just outside the fence at the very end of the garden in a tiny piece of land that belongs to no one. In all the nearly 32 years we have been here, I cannot remember it flowering so well. The thorny leaves (which have only just appeared) are mixed with racemes (a flower cluster) of pea-type white flowers. Amazing.
