The Dahlia bedding plants were so successful last year that I ordered some new ones for this summer. They arrived earlier than they did before and looked like they needed to get into the ground straight away. Earlier than I really wanted due to the tiny risk of frost this week.
First some of the bulb foliage had to be cleared and the border dug over.
Then preparing holes nearly twelve inches apart.
And finally planting the dahlias.
The following morning they all look fine so hopefully they will survive the next three cold nights.
