I have posted most years about the bluebells in Pavis Wood. On Saturday morning at 9am I walked from the car park in Wendover Woods near Go Ape and walked south through the trees until I met The Ridgeway.
This takes me across fields until I meet the entrance to Pavis Wood. This is a pretty isolated part of the Chilterns, but it's not that far to a large area of bluebells. As there is nowhere to park for that mile and a half to Wendover Woods, it is always very quiet. There are paths through the bluebells, so it's nice to be surrounded by the flowers with no one else around.
At the same time the bluebells are in flower, the beech trees are coming into leaf. Their bright green leaves are spectacular.
